My World | Designing Play-Based STEM Products at Scale
My World was developed as a scalable educational product line exploring real-world themes for young learners. As the product designer on the team, I contributed across concept development, testing, packaging and launch execution, ensuring the final products were both engaging for children and viable for commercial release.
Project Partner:
17 months, India
Tools & methods used: Moderated usability testing, play-based research, rapid prototyping, insight synthesis, evidence-led iteration, cross-functional product development
Overview
The Brief
Develop a themed educational product series for children aged 4- 8, expanding the company’s portfolio into a new age segment not previously targeted while balancing engaging play with meaningful learning
The Process
Led concept development and iterative prototyping within a small team, working cross-functionally with a child psychologist, marketing, and manufacturing partners. Conducted hands-on testing with children, refined scope based on insight and feasibility, and developed packaging and launch assets to ensure readiness across markets.
The Impact
Designed 'My World'- a new platform product. Reduced the series from four themes to two to maintain quality within deadline constraints. Successfully launched across the US and India, selling 5,000 units at release and supporting strong early commercial performance.

My World is for little builders with big imaginations! This pretend play building kit for 3+ year olds introduces STEM skills, encourages imaginative thinking & enables children to experience the joy of creating their own pretend play.
